Here we go! Musical night! We found some well priced tickets ($29 ea) for the musical &Juliet, and heard it was a great show, so this gave us something to enjoy on a Wednesday night, after a day at the office. We started our night with some dinner. We had several options we were deciding between, but in the end, we went with the cheap route and just bought from the food court at Union Station. To avoid crowding, and to have a more peaceful meal, we brought the food back to my office.

After dinner, it was time to head over to the theatre. We didn’t know much about the show, except that this was an alternate ending to the famous Romeo & Juliet. Before we left for the theatre, we ran into a co-worker of mine who happened to watch the show. He mentioned that it was like watching a bunch of 20 year old girls. This was confusing, but he didn’t want to ruin anything.

We got to the theatre, and started to worry a bit about our seats. When we bought them, there was a disclaimer that there was a bit of an obstruction from the overhang of the balcony. Turned out, it wasn’t anything to worry about, we still had a fantastic view of the stage, and didn’t disrupt any part of the show for us

&Juliet turned out to be a fantastic show, using lots of music from our younger years. And I could now fully understand the comment around the 20 year old girls. This was a very accurate description 😝. Wincy‘s favourite performer was the character of Anne Hathaway. Her characters interaction/relationship with William Shakespeare was done really well, and she also had a fantastic singing voice. Jonny‘s favourite however, would be the performer portraying the character of Juliet. This performer had an amazing command of her voice, and brought a the musical to life! Overall, all the performers did amazing, and the best part was that we knew all the songs they were singing.
Scene’s-wise, Wincy’s favourites were 1) the performance of the Bois Band, and 2) Juliet‘s performance of Roar. Jonny’s favourite would also be the performance of the Bois Band for number one, but #2 would be the entrance into the Gala/Club
The show ended at 10:07pm, so we unfortunately had to wait for the 11pm train. We used this time to enjoy a cone from McDonalds to end the night
