Last minute, we found some cheap tickets in the 500 level, for the Blue Jays 2nd game of the 2026 season. This game also happened to be a giveaway day, for an ALCS championship hat, so we decided to do it. Yvonne and Kinson were still available, and so they joined us as well. There were only 14,000 hats being given away, and we read that weekend giveaways can result in really long lines, pretty early. So we decided to get an early start to the day.

Our day began with a 10am meetup, to carpool downtown. Kinson had found a deal at Rosie Burgers, and there was one at The Well. So we decided the best plan would be to pickup the burgers, and enjoy them while we hung out in line. So first off, lets go get some burgers!

The deal at Rosie’s burgers was free fries and drink, with any purchase of a burger. We weren’t sure if they’d give us for each burger, or one per order. Turns out, it was per burger. Next up, drive back to park the car, and get to the Roger’s Centre to get in line for the hat. Today’s game had a 3pm start time, but to secure a hat, we were arriving at 11:30am. Today was also a very cold day, but we braved the cold and ate our lunch while we were in line.

The stadium doesn’t open their doors until 2 hours before game time, so this was our spot for quite a while. We got here just in time, to wait by the gate. The security team was just pulling a line to close off this waiting area, and we snuck in behind them. Well, 1.5hrs had finally passed, and it was time to start heading in, and warm up 😅

And we’re finally in the stadium, and got our hats, with plenty of boxes to spare! As we had bought seats on the 500 level, we decided to take some pictures first, from better seating areas.

And then I remembered, there was an area called the WestJet Flight Deck that you could hangout at, regardless of where you purchased a ticket. This was right above centre field, so we went to check it out and see if it was a good spot and if there was any space for us. Turns out, there was!

We decided to hangout here to watch the game, as it was a great view. Otherwise, our seats would’ve been high in the 500 level, near 3rd base. We now had 2 hours before game time, and so we used the opportunity to take more pictures, like with our newly acquired hats 😁

Game 2 turned out to be a great game. The Blue Jay’s blew their lead, but managed to tie it up in the 9th inning to stay alive. The crowd was ecstatic! It then took another 2 innings before the Blue Jays managed to get the win!

As we were leaving the Roger Centre, we found some spots for photo ops.

Then started to make our way back to the car. The crowd of people leaving the stadium was full of energy! What a fantastic game!

For dinner, it was decided that we’d go back uptown to Commerce Gate, to have Kinton Ramen. They were running an anniversary special for $9.99 for any of their signature bowls. We also tried our luck, and asked if the Presto Perks offer was available tonight, and it was! The Presto Perks offer isn’t anything fabulous, but who can say no to Costco Fries 😛. At Kinton, they call it Tokyo Fries, as they put some seasoning on em, but really didn’t need it.

Then the ramen arrived

What a great meal to end the day. Nice bowl of hot soup noodles, after spending all that time waiting in the cold. Another great day, with great friends, watching a great ball game!
