Day 3, after waking up early to enjoy more hotel coffee, we head out for our first stop. Today, that’s a New York bagel for breakfast. Our plan is to head to a nearby Apollo Bagel’s. Out we go, and as we get out to street level, we see Lenwich across the street. This was another spot on our list, so we thought, why not! We noticed Lenwich online, because of their massive Chicken Caesar Wrap, and so we got one to share. How they get this wrap together is truly impressive! They stuff a lot into one wrap. We tried to get a video of them making our wrap, but they got to it too quick.

After the wrap, we continue on our way to the intended destination, Apollo’s Bagel.

It’s quite amazing, it’s a Monday… Work day, yet a local bagel shop can still have such a long lineup. Luckily it’s still a rainy day. Not sure if that helped us at all, but it only took us 30 mins from the time we started lining up, to finally getting our bagel. With Wincy being pregnant, we had to avoid the smoked salmon. The cream cheese & tomato was an other fan favourite online, so that’s what we went with. The bagel was toasted really well, and the slice of tomato was super fresh. This was a really good bagel!

Now that we’ve had our second breakfast, it’s time to go for a longer walk. First sight to check out today is a unique piece of architecture called the Vessel. This is in the Hudson Yards area of NYC. We reach Hudson Yards (the mall) and go in for a short break. While we’re having the break, we try to figure out where the Vessel is. We didn’t know it at the time, but we thought Hudson Yards is what we were looking for 😝. After our brief break, we get up and see what we’re looking for outside the building. We also saw this bear statue, so went to take some pics.

Turns out, to enter this structure was an additional cost. It didn’t cost much, but it was so gloomy out, we weren’t sure if we would be able to enjoy our time, so we opted out of entering. Next up, the High Line! This is formerly a rail track that was turned into a raised walking trail. We walked to the trail head, as marked on Google Maps. This led us around Hudson Yards, down to street level, and up a set of stairs to reach the High Line. As we got up there, I thought to walk out towards the Hudson Yard train yard, to check out the beginning of the trail. To our surprise, we were actually led in a giant circle! Right next to that bear statue, was an entrance into the High Line. No need to go up/down stairs to get into the trail. This was a nice walking path. Lots of plants/flowers. Not what you’d expect to see in NYC. We didn’t take many pics here though

Next destination, which is at the end of the High Line, Pier 57 & Little Island. Fortunately, as we were walking through the High Line, the rain stopped. We head to Pier 57 to take an another break, while we check in for our flight. Crazy, we only had 24 hours left in NYC. While checking into our flight, we use the opportunity to take a quick break, have a drink, and use the washrooms. We also pay a visit to the roof top, where we get a sneak peak of Little Island.

Wincy debated whether to actually go into Little Island or not, but I wanted to go in to check it out.

Also found this “instrument” built into the ground. Not sure what to call this thing.

After this, time to head to Chelsea Market.

And at Chelsea Market, we go for taco’s!

After these taco’s, Wincy see’s a sign about their seafood taco spot. Let’s Go!

Ya! Kinda weird to get there! Cute spot though. Seems like not many people know about this spot.

After the taco’s, we go to the seafood hall, and grab some clam chowder.

And as we continue our walk through Chelsea Market, we see Joey Bats. This is the stall owned by retired Blue Jays player Jose Bautista, serving Portuguese tarts. Quite pricey, so we didn’t try.

We then walk around Fish Endy, to check out their unique lineup of products/artwork.

And we’re starting to get tired, so we start heading back towards our hotel. We stop by a Trader Joe’s along the way, where we pick up a couple additional items. We then stop into a Chick-Fil-A to claim our free chicken burger.

And then find a 2Bro’s Pizza, so we stop in for a cheap slice. Not as good as I remember 😝

The rest of the night, we spend packing our luggage and hanging out at the hotel. Wincy actually passed out pretty early 😅, so I spent the rest of the night watching TV.
