Day 1 begins pretty thankful, that our original flight was cancelled 😝. Because of this, we were able to get a good nights sleep, before having to depart for the airport.
After dropping off our bags, and getting through security, time to relax in the lounge! Fortunately, the Plaza Premium lets us admit Wincy's dad using once of our passes, even without us present. He also got to enjoy some lounge time.
After getting him into the lounge, we went across the hall, and up to the Maple Leaf Lounge. Lunch was pretty good. Clam chowder, roasted sweet potatoes and jerk chicken.

After hanging out for a bit, it was time for boarding. Our seating on the plane though, was something we weren't looking forward to. Since we were rescheduled onto this flight, we were slotted into the available seats. Of course these would be the middle seats.

Wincy's dad wanted to be seated near the back of the plane, so they switched. Wincy lucked out though, as she was seated in between a family, who actually preferred to sit together. As such, she ended up with the window seat.
Jonny initially thought he drew the shortest straw. His neighbour in the window seat, was travelling with a newborn child. Luckily for him though (because he can somehow talk to anyone), he became pretty good friends with both his new neighbours. The newborn ended up being a delight to travel with (didn't make a sound the entire flight), and even woke him a couple times from his nap (trying to grab his arm). The plane however, seemed to need some work. The free wifi didn't work, and the in-flight entertainment system was... covered with a big sticker

After landing, and grabbing our luggage, we get the car. Although there was a lineup (and no Fastbreak counter), we lucked out. Budget had run out of 4 door sedans. As such, everyone in line was getting an "upgraded" vehicle. We decided on our v2 Vancouver Racecar! a Hyundai Tucson! Much more spacious than a sedan... especially with the luggage

As it was now approaching rush hour, traffic into North Vancouver was not looking good. Jack recommended a nearby food-court, where we grabbed a small bite to eat from One Cafe.

When we were done eating, traffic still wasn't any better, so we "raced" Ada back to their place. Only Jack knew it was a race though 😏. Unfortunately for Jonny, Ada knows the "shortcuts" and beat us by 5 minutes, even though she left after us. When we arrived at Ada & Jack's place, it was time to present the surprise gift. We had bough them 4 red sausages, as you can't buy them in Vancouver (shocking!). Thankfully, they were all still fully frozen!
We then relocated to Ada's parents house, where we would have dinner tonight. Feature item for dinner, fresh Spot Prawns! yum!

After dinner, we played in the backyard with the kids for a bit, before we departed for the airport again. Time to pickup Cherrent and Vincent! Timing couldn't be more perfect. We arrived, just as they were walking up to the pickup area. We brought them back, and decided to get them checked into the AirBnb first. We were still waiting for Winnie and Michael to arrive.

Vincent took the opportunity to show us the news toys bought/brought, like his Insta360 gimble. So new, he didn't know how to use it 😛. After hanging out for a bit, we went back to Ada's parents place. We hung out with everyone for a while, but it had been a long travelling day for everyone. We called it a night, after finally deciding on the next days plan. Hiking at Cypress Mountain!
