We’ve been in Auckland for a week now, and on the morning of our departure is the first time we see live sheep! Amazing! These were just at the neighbouring property too!

Now we’re off to the airport, and Cherrent is once again, asleep in the back seat 😝

Get checked in, and all our luggage tagged

And off we go to Queenstown!

The scenery out the window was amazing as we approached Queenstown

Our approach into Queenstown airport though, now this was something! Fortunately, the pilot had announced during the flight, that there were high winds which would cause quite a bit of turbulence, and that there was a chance they’d have to do a go around. This provided me with confidence that this pilot was used to this route. But man, I didn’t expect the ride we got! According to the pilot, the winds were topping 100km/hr at the peaks of these mountains of the valley. These winds were pushing us literally all over the place! Me, in my Uniqlo pants, were sliding all over the chair. I’ve never cranked the seatbelt so tight before 😛. Fortunately for me though, I was wearing noise-cancelling headphones. The lady sitting next to us sounded like she was going to be sick. She could barely walk/stand straight. As I’m able to write this this, it’s kind of obvious, but our plane landed without issues

After collecting our luggage, we checked the time and it was still too early to get into our AirBnB. Fortunately, Auntie2 had a craving for soup noodles. Now where in Queenstown, are we going to find soup noodles? Apparently, at the airport!

And then Vincent had a craving for some ice cream, which was also conveniently available right there.

Now that we’re full, we needed to find a ride! we‘d be arriving at the AirBnB at the perfect time to check in. Stepping outside of the airport, all I could see was small taxi’s. Uber was also showing only small cars around. Do we take 2 cars? Will it fit us with all our luggage? Or did we need 3 cars? Fortunately, this big 9 person van showed up, and said he could fit us with all our luggage no problem! Best part of all, he gave us his contact, so we could arrange our return ride with him as well. We had a very early flight out, so this saved us a big headache.

We arrive at the AirBnB and wow! This place was more gorgeous than the pictures described! As we went inside, I think all of us were in awe. The views from our balcony were AMAZING!

And after exploring the rest of the house, we decided to do a photo session on the balcony. The balcony doors open up all the way, which added to the effect.

Now it’s time to go again, to our favorite spot! The local Pak‘n’Save to grab drinks and snacks. We grabbed our bus passes, and time to walk down to the bus stop. But not without taking a whole bunch of pics!

We’re such tourists! Taking pics on the bus

Such a small town feel

And we ended up buying SO much stuff, we had to take an uber back to the AirBnB. There’s no way we could’ve gotten this all back on the bus, then back up the hill!

Isn’t the view amazing! And also, I haven’t said this in a while, but yes! It’s winter in New Zealand! It was a tad cooler here in Queenstown, but still comfortable enough for us to keep. The huge balcony door fully open!

For dinner, we head into the ski town, and found ourselves at a bar called Winnie’s

And upon returning back to the AirBnB, we cooked up some of the mussels we bought from Pak‘n’Save

Simple, yet delicious! And the end of our night! We’re exhausted!
