Our weekend road trip to Montreal started on Thursday night, where we were browsing Hotwire, and found a great deal on a hotel for the weekend. We decided just after midnight, to go ahead with this road trip. We thought we would have more than enough time to pack our bags on Friday, however our workdays ended up being extremely busy, and we packed very last minute at 5pm. We were trying to hit the road ASAP, as there was also a rain storm incoming. We arrived in Montreal around 11:30pm, and managed to avoid the storm. It was a fantastic drive! Technology in cars really helps!
We started our weekend with coffee and pastries at the Crew Collective & Cafe. Ordered a latte and almond pastry to share. The almond pastry was delicious

Walked around old Montreal for a bit

Then stopped into a shop for a poutine lunch

After lunch, we walked by, and decided to have a look at a small duck shop

It was pouring rain, but we had to make a stop at Romados. In a way, it worked in our favour. We were soaked, but there was no line when we arrived. Romados ALWAYS has a line! After feasting on the portugese chicken & poutine, we opted to take an Uber back to the hotel

Sunday morning, and it's time to check out of our hotel. It also decided to snow overnight

Can't leave Montreal though, without picking up some bagels. We arrived at St. Viateur, and saw quite a line.

Fortunately for us, this was the line to sit-in. We decided to grab bagels for takeout, and start our drive home. We were able to get into the shop pretty quickly, and got our Bagels. Before leaving, we each had a bagel. Even without any spreads, these bagels fresh, are delicious!

Drive back to Toronto was a bit more difficult, despite it being a daytime drive. There was more traffic (compared to none on the way to Montreal), and we also realized technology is not a fan of slush. The slush was blocking the sensors. As a result, we had to drive manually like cave men! 😝
