Today, we planned a day trip to the nearby city of Toyama. Since we arrived in Kanazawa, we hadn't seen the station during the day yet. So we took another picture of the front of the station. Without all the lights, the colour is very different. The structure behind the arch is also marveling.

First stop in Toyama, is the Toyama River. This is a very popular place for tourists to visit, due to the great views of the mountains in the background. Along the edge of the Toyama River is also a popular Starbucks location. We did stop by, but this Starbucks was far too busy, just to have a bit of a view.

We decided instead, to visit the Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art and Design. Going straight to the rooftop exhibit, so Wincy could take a break

Next stop, the Toyama Glass Museum. Many exhibits in this museum did not allow photos to be taken, but it was truly amazing what artists were doing with glass. There was one exhibit however that let you take pictures, and the displays were quite vibrant and unique

Back to some food, we hadn't really eaten anything yet that day. As we were heading back towards the train station, we walked by a Shogun Burger and decided to take a quick lunch break

Next up, our side adventure to Amaharashi coastline. We weren't sure if we'd have time to fit this in, but we did. It was unfortunately cloudy on this day though. On a nice day, we could've had a nice photo from this spot with the mountains very visible in the background. You can still see the resemblance of the mountains in the back in our pictures.

After taking a bunch of pictures by the water, we went to the lookout point. Here, there were many people waiting for the opportunity to take a picture of the incoming train.

We took a few more pictures from the lookout, before making our way back to the train station

Wasn't quite time for the train yet, but we arrived early, as we read it could be difficult to find our way to the platform. As we were early, we took some pictures with the station. This is the oldest looking JR station we'd been to. So old, they don't even take IC cards. When we arrived at the station, we had to pay the supplemental fare in cash, and were given a piece of paper to "fix" our IC cards upon our return.

This is probably the oldest JR train we have been on too!
By the time we got back to Kanazawa, it was pretty late. We had fortunately decided on where to eat dinner on the way back, and made our way to Mori Mori at Kanazawa Station. Lucky, as when we arrived and got our number, the staff closed the queue minutes after. We were the last table to be seated that night 😁. Thankfully we were able to try, as the sushi was so fresh and delicious.
