Start day with some thick udon. We went to Godaime Hanayama in Ginza, and arrived around 12:15pm. To our surprise, the restaurant had posted a sign outside saying they were sold out of udon. Luckily, they had another location nearby (1 train station away). We hopped on the train, and made our way to the other location. There was still a line, but at least they were still accepting people in the lineup. The lineup went decently quick (about 30 mins), and we got seated inside the restaurant. To our surprise, the restaurant was quite spacious, and was not overpriced (given the lineup and novelty of wide udon). We enjoyed our udon lunch so much, we even bought dry packs for us and our family to enjoy when we got home. This was our first stop of the day though, so the almost 1kg in dry udon we bought had to be carried around with us for the remainder of the day. what a workout!

Next up, Age 3. Here, this is a small sandwich shop where they pre-fry the bread, and then stuff it with your choice of filling. They serve both sweet and savoury options, and so we tried. We opted to get 3 variations; Cream, Curry & Apple Pie. Maybe we were still a bit full from lunch, but the curry just wasn't doing it for us. Jonny enjoyed the apple pie (typical Jonny), and the cream was quite light.

And as we walked around the area, we stopped into a small matcha shop, where we order 2 scoops of matcha ice cream. This shop serves matcha ice cream of various grades, and so we thought we'd try 2 different grades to see if we could tell the difference. We decided to tray grades 4 and 7. 7 was definitely richer.

Then, we decided to have more udon for dinner. This restaurant is named Menchirashi. We arrived in line around 8:15pm, and luckily we did, as they closed their line shortly after we arrived. This line took a while, but it was well worth the wait. Thankfully we had a lot of time to review the menu before the staff came around to take our order. We noticed in the menu, that we could request larger quantity of noodles for free, at the time of ordering (of course we ordered the larger helping). When we finally got seated, we were able to see the table next to us, and the size of their bowl of noodles vs ours. We were thankful to have ordered the larger helping, as it was perfect for our level of hunger . The udon had great texture, and had both cold & hot options (Jonny of course, got the cold udon), while Wincy got the carbonara.
