Japan 2024 - Day 8 (Departure Day)

It another super hot day in Tokyo, and it’s sadly time for us to check out of our AirBnb. We get all our luggage to the Yamanote line, and strategically target the coach with the wheelchair spot. Unfortunately there were already people occupying that space.

Luckily they left a couple stops into the trip. We had a lot of luggage 🙃

Our stop was Shinagawa. This is where we would be transferring onto the AirPort Express. We found a couple of large lockers here to stash the big bags while we found a place for our final meal in Japan. We found this spot nearby for some sushi.

It was a bittersweet meal. Food was delicious, but we knew it was our last meal. After a bit of wandering in the Shinagawa area, it was time to catch our train to the airport. After checking in, we head to the security line, and I hear someone calling my name. It was someone I didn’t think I’d see in Japan, but it was Alton, a former colleague. Turns out, we were catching the same flight back to Toronto. After a brief chat, we didn’t get the chance to chat anymore. I tried to text him, to see if he wanted to join us in the lounge, but seems like he either ran out, or didn’t have any data. Anywho, I was VERY ready for the lounge. Particularly, I was very ready for a shower 😜. I did mention a couple times, that Japan was experiencing a heatwave right? Well I was a sweaty mess! Never thought I’d post pictures of a bathroom in a travel blog, but this was the best shower ever! Lol.

After I got freshened up, it was Wincy’s turn! She didn’t realize how great it would feel, until after she finished. This was our first time showering at an airport, and it was unforgettable 😝

This lounge didn’t have the variety of food items, but enough to keep us feeling good. At least it had a great view of the planes
