We start our first full day in Tokyo pretty early. We’re going to Teamlab Planets! It’s our first time going, and many reviews said to get there early to avoid crowds. Our tickets included timed entry, and we got there a bit early, so we found a konbini to grab a small snack.

We then went over to the entrance, to get checked in and our stuff into a locker.

Then it‘s off to the exhibits. Love their style of art. We spent so much time enjoying the art here, and even went around for a second round

After leaving TeamLab Planets, next stop was Kappabashi (aka Kitchen Street). First time we went to Japan, I invested in a new Japanese knife. It was so nice (and expensive) however, that I was almost scared to use it. I thought if I chipped the blade, I might end up crying. So my goal for this trip, was to get a few everyday knives. Of course while we’re here, gotta look at all kitchen items.

Now you’ll see in the next pictures, that we’re wearing some towels around our necks. We arrived in Japan during a freakishly hot heatwave! By 7am, it was already pushing 40 degrees celsius. Next up, it’s lunch time!

We found an udon shop in the Kappabashi area, and they had just what I wanted. Cold Udon! After lunch, we found ourselves at a shrine. Shrines are everywhere in Japan, but they’re always great to visit.

And right by the shrine, we saw a vendor selling deep fried mochi. Unfortunately, the deep fried mochi wasn’t that good.

And it was very hot, so had to stop to re-hydrate. We stopped into a McDonald’s and got a pineapple smoothie

We then did some shopping for the afternoon, and decided to get more sushi for dinner. Tonight‘s spot was the popular conveyor sushi spot called Kura.

Kura is really popular, cause there’s a ”game” you can play when returning your plates. Your even have a chance at winning prizes. We sadly didn’t win anything though.
We also thought the sushi at Hama (the place by our AirBnB) was better, so we stopped in for a couple plates before going home. Loved the fact that they’re open 23 hours a day!
